This cute little bead bunny necklace DIY is made from a pearl, pink seed beads and some wire, its the perfect accessory for spring!
Followers on Instagram will know that I am a cat lady- my cat Aston often graces the grid with his floof. But I also love rabbits; the way they wash their ears, the way they eat and those mad runs and hops they do…. So I tend to choose bunnies as my spring/Easter creature of choice!
-30cm/12 inches of 0.4mm wire
-10mm pearl bead
-26 x size 11 seed beads
-chain nose pliers
How to make:
1.Take your 30cm length of wire and thread on the large pearl bead and 13 seed beads.
2.Make sure there is about 10cm of wire coming out of the pearl, then take the end with the seed beads back down through the pearl.
3.Pull the wire tight to create a loop of the seed beads. Use the chain nose pliers to help is needed.
4.Bring the same wire around the outside of the bead and wrap it neatly around the base of the loop of beads.
5.Add another 13 seed beads onto the wire.
6.Take the wire back down the pearl as before to make a second loop. Our bunny now has two ears!
7.Wrap the longest wire all the way around the pearl, back to the hole and leaving an extra 5mm, cut off the excess. Use your chain nose pliers to tuck this 5mm end into the hole.
8.Take the other wire around to the top hole. As before, trim the wire, leaving a 5mm tail to tuck into the hole.
9.Attach one ear to a necklace chain with a jump ring. Pop over to this post if you aren’t sure about using jump rings! You can easily follow the same pattern with larger beads and even use a pipe clean and chunky plastic beads for a kids version!
