Looking to get more creative, but don’t know where to start? These craft kits for adults have all you need to try out a new hobby and find your creativity.
Being creative is something we all do as children. Then as we get older, making and creating often falls by the wayside. But there are so many benefits to getting crafty. It is the perfect way to get away from screens and de-stress. And a craft kit will have everything you need to learn something new, without having to buy lots of tools and materials!
This list of craft kits for adults has everything form mosaics and candles to painting and bead embroidery. Will you find your new hobby?
Macrame
Colourful macrame craft kits to create jewellery, decorations and home accessories. Well, I had to get my own kits in here, didn’t I? But seriously, I take pride in making my kits the best they can be, and creating designs that are not your average boho macrame. This chunky rope necklace is easy to do, and the finished piece gives a perfect pop of colour to any outfit.

Embroidery
Stranded Stories creates hair embroidery kits that use 3D stitching techniques. There are loads of brilliant embroidery kits out there, but this got on the list because they are so different in style to everything else I’ve seen.

Crochet
If you thought crochet was all scarves and granny squares, think again! Lottie and Albert have a crochet subscription box, Curate Crochet Box, but you can also buy past boxes individually. Like this gorgeous hot water bottle

Jewellery
If you love crystals and want to create your own jewellery, then this kit from The Bead Shop Nottingham is perfect. You can even choose to buy the kit with or without a set of pliers. Full disclosure. I did design some jewellery in this kit, but I really do think it’s an excellent kit to make a wide variety of items.

Clay
If watching The Great Pottery Throwdown has got you wanting to squish some clay, starting with this Clay Date kit from Faye Wellon looks like a super place to begin. The kit uses air-dry clay, so no kiln is needed and there are four projects to make- you can also upgrade to have enough clay for two people.

Cross stitch
This cute introduction to cross-stitch is anything but twee! Cotton Clara have a brilliant selection of craft kits, but this one won me over for its simplicity and modern style.

Bead Embroidery
Celia Jayi is an amazing bead embroider, and she had created some stunning kits for you to have a go too. This Coral Reef kit has such vibrant colours, and the selection of beads and sequins is just perfect.

Punch needle
Punch needle has been one of the most popular crafts in recent years, with lots of kits coming onto the market. But I love this cushion kit from Whole Punching; cute and practical!

Needlepoint
Still on the stitch theme is this needlepoint kit from The Makers Marks. The foam shrimp design is as far away from the quaint tapestry your great aunt used to do.

Candles
I think I actually gasped when I saw this candle kit from Drippy; it’s just that epic. Bright colours and jazzy shaped candle moulds? I think I’ve found my next craft obsession!

Origami
If like me, you struggle to keep actual living plants and flowers alive, then this Origami Peony kit from Origami Est might be just the thing!

Calliigraphy
I have always been fascinated by calligraphy, but it’s never been a skill I have managed to master. Maybe I should try this Meticulous Ink Lettering Kit and give it another go?

Terazzo
You can’t have failed to notice that terazzo is having a bit of a moment. If its something you have had your eye one, this Coaster kit from Kay Carter might be the ideal place to get started

Mosiac
I’m lucky enough to live near several of Sophie Robins’ mosaic pieces, as they are part of a mosaic trail in my local area! This little bird is just perfect and I love the different shapes of glass tile in the design.

Painting
This painting kit from Paiges Illustrations used gouache paint (opaque watercolour) to create a graphic style of painting. I came across her on TikTok, where I just fell in love with her designs.
