Transform a plain mug with ceramic paint. Dishwasher safe! No special artistic skills required for this Paint Drip Mug DIY Tutorial.

I first made a variation of this design a few years ago as a present for my Dad. When I was home for Christmas, I saw him using it and it still looks as good as new! I obviously get my love of metallics from my Dad
You Will Need:
-Plain ceramic mug
–Pebeo Porcelaine 150 paint I used 44-Gold
-Masking / low tack tape
-Paintbrush
How To:
1.Give your chosen mug a good wash in hot soapy water and dry thoroughly. Fix a strip of masking or low tack tape near the top of the mug and press it down well.
2.Stir the paint, then apply the paint a short section over the lower edge of the tape. The paint will seem thick, but if you apply it fairly generously it will naturally start to gather.
3. Add a little more paint where you see it begin to drip down the side. It will continue to drip over the next half an hour so be careful not to add too much paint.
4.Continue doing this all the way around, then leave to dry at room temperature for 24 hours
5.Once dry, gently remove the tape and put in a pre-heated oven on a greaseproof paper lined baking tray at 150°C/300°F for 35 minutes. Take the tray out of hte oven and allow to cool. The pop the kettle on and make a nice pot of tea to celebrate!
