Last week I went a cheeky trip out with my family to Belton House and Gardens, a National Trust property near Grantham in Lincolnshire!
The parkland is extensive, formal gardens and a mansion house to explore, along with the usual National Trust cafe, shop and kids play areas. We decided just to concentrate on the formal gardens as it was a gorgeous day (one of the rare few we seem to get in UK!) and promised to be the perfect time of year for flowering plants. Read more
Last week I spent a few days up at my parents place in Yorkshire. It was also a bit of a working holiday, as I was to booked to do a workshop at my Mums church and to sell some of my jewellery. But I did get out and about, eat some nice food and relax a little!

It would be fair to say that my idea of a perfect day out involves some combination of craft, tea and cake. So when my Mum suggested that en-route to visit a family friend in Prestatyn in North Wales we took a trip to Abakhans Mostyn store, I wasn’t going to say no!
I visited the area often as a child and back then, Abakhans just sold fabric, but in recent years has expanded hugely, and now has interiors, yarn and craft shops as well as a gift shop, cafe and workshop space. Read more
